Homemade Barbecue Sauce
My Homemade Barbecue Sauce is ridiculously easy. Simply measure your ingredients, stir and simmer. Serve. It cannot be easier. And it tastes way beyond better than any sauce I’ve tasted from a store.
Add this sauce to your favorite bbq recipe, or use my slow cooker version of Pulled Pork Barbecue. There is a homemade rub included in the recipe, too!
The sauce can be used in place of wherever you have used a bottle in the past…Pork BBQ, hamburgers, chicken, loaded BBQ nachos, french fries, etc.
If you use “no salt added” tomato sauce, you will need to add salt to your sauce. I use Hunt’s brand tomato sauce and Heinz brand ketchup.
The sauce will keep for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container in your refrigerator, or frozen for up to 6 months.
Enjoy!
Homemade Barbecue Sauce

- 2 tablespoons brown sugar, light or dark brown
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, hot or mild

- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Stirring often, simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the sugar to melt and the flavors to marry.
